International Perspectives researches and invites the top international experts to present on given topics that set the stage for predetermined problem sessions. Participants are assigned groups to ensure cross industry representation. These pre-assigned groups are asked to consider the problems posed by workshop presenters, contributing to long-term solutions.

International Perspectives perpares easy to read conclusory reports following every workshop. These reports, far from recapping the workshop’s proceedings, act as recommendations and drivers for change in the intended subject matter.

The International Perspectives blog is moderated by Alicia Wanless, the founder and executive director of International Perspectives.

As a sought after commentator on security issues, Alicia has led international projects on security and anti-corruption measures working with a team across four continents. Specific areas of interest include the role of technology in security (focusing on biometrics, interception methods and cyber security), the role of identity in modern society, and the systemic analysis of related issues (such as economy, health, environment etc.) and their impact on security.

Alicia’s diverse background includes founding The Walsingham Institute Inc., a private think tank, which was mandated to drive a rethinking around approaches to security. She has published several research and analytical reports and has spoken widely to the press and public on a variety of security measures. Alicia has a Bachelor of Arts from York University in Russian & East European Studies and speaks several languages.
